Olga Łojewska is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Cultural Studies, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where she studies environmental memory in relation to the dispossession of riverine cultures in post-socialist cities.
She has been a part of the Scholarly Communication Research Group since February 2025, working in the project The Consequences of the ‘Shock Therapy’ for Science and Higher Education. She has conducted research on the emergence of scientific excellence in Polish science and co-authored the report The Birth of the Discourse of Scientific Excellence From The Spirit of Shock Therapy. Her current research examines the historical processes that led to the dispossession of student culture and student clubs in the transition from socialism to capitalism in Poland.
She previously worked as a research assistant at the Deutsches Zentrum für Integrations- und Migrationsforschung (DeZIM) in Berlin.
Her research interests include political ecology, environmental humanities, urban studies, the commons, and memory.
