Adam Ochwat

Adam Ochwat is a master’s student in sociology at the University of Warsaw (MISH), holding BA degrees in sociology and philosophy from the same institution. He is currently working on his MA thesis on the history of student culture in 1980s and 1990s Warsaw in the context of the transition from socialism to capitalism in Poland. His bachelor’s thesis in philosophy explored the neoliberal theoretical foundations of the polish transformation. He has co-conducted several studies on the living conditions of students and workers.  

At SCRG Adam works in Origins and development of the peripheral academic capitalism in Poland (1990-2021) research project led by dr Krystian Szadkowski and has contributed to the Shock therapy and HE project.

Research interests: social history, political economy, higher education, student movements, social movements, trade unions
